TNT – Hot Gyal

Brand new on T&A records, it’s TNT (Tifa, Natalie Storm and Timberlee, produced by Fancy)! I’ve been working really hard on T&A, and I’m super proud of this one. It began with Matt Goias sending me the weird pop dancehall project he was working on with Fancy and Max Glazer (Federation Sound). I liked it and asked to remix it, and ended up signing the whole EP to T&A. Big remixes from Bassanovva (Grahmzilla & Jubliee) and Dre Skull (Mixpak records).

We hired a publicist to write promo for our new EP and she came up with this: “TNT is a supergroup made up of Tifa, Natalie Storm and Timberlee, three hot gyals from Jamaica who have taken the dancehall world by storm.”

All puns aside, we’ve been super into TNT (aka Badda Badda Gals) for a while and when we got the opportunity to work with them on an EP, we jumped at the chance. Our friends Matt Goias, Max Glazer and Fancy brought us “Hot Gyal” and “Running,” and we were blown away. Weird uptempo dancehall pop with huge hooks? Right up our alley.

For remixes, we’ve kept it close to home: Dre Skull was at the top of our wish list, having produced incredible work with Sizzla and Vybz Kartel. Plus he put out a record with Natalie Storm on his Mixpak Records label which we loved! (Sticky “Jumeirah Riddim” featuring Natalie Storm) We also tapped our buds Bassanovva (Grahmzilla, formerly of Thunderheist, and Jess Jubilee of Flashing Lights) for a remix and they really delivered, with their patented Floor Drugs style. Be sure to check for their EP on Grizzly, Sinden’s new label. Plus we managed to score a remix from the super elusive new Dutch House Bigroom Trancehall Electro Mashup House producer Carl Arm! Carl! injected his patented ed party steroids into the mix; look out for his signature AX sneaker / body spray line coming out soon. And DJ Ayres did a big wobbly bassy remix of Running, which is so good that it makes me talk about myself in the third person.
