The Bun B tour was incredible
- it was truly a special event every night, great to be a part of.
Here is a live set, recorded on tour with Bun B, August 2008: http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/the-rub/~5/380833675/therub912008.mp3
I record myself a lot (internally using the Rane TTM-57) but I rarely put up
live sets. For the Scion tours I usually work out some sets and then do things
a little different each night, but do certain transitions that I like the same
way each night. A few transitions like the DJ Kool / Jay-Z thing, and the Dr
Dre into MOP, are things I've been doing since last year and should probably
retire...
Anyhow this set is really two recordings from two different cities spliced
together - part of a warmup set and then later on in the more hype part of
the night.
The edit point is "Mr. Scarface." I played a lot more Texas rap but it would
be dumb to post that part of the set up because Houston for Dummies was the
last podcast - http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/the-rub/~5/361468364/HoustonForDummies.mp3

And
we'll have an exclusive interview with Bun B on Rub
Radio on Scion Broadband, coming in the next couple of months.
Cosmo and I went with the Smalltown DJs to Shambhala Festival in British Columbia
at the beginning of August. There were 10,000 hippies and ravers camping out
in the woods and dancing. 6 stages, music 24/7, and amazing sound systems. Best.
Rave. Ever.
The Fractal Forest during Ayres and Cosmo's set
The beach stage at about 10 in the morning.
Everyone wore costumes all weekend.

Ayres and the Scratch Bastid
Cosmo is always groovy
Music highlights were DJ Numark - one of the best hip-hop and classics sets
we've seen in our lives - Smalltown DJs, Malente, Drop The Lime, Vinyl Richie,
Hugs, Scratch Bastid, Flosstradamus, Neighbor, Wax Romeo, Fort Knox 5 and Ursula
1000.
The Rub has just released a handful of remixes and mashups on CrooklynClan.net. We
need a Winn Dixie grocery bag right now to the VIP section!
When hearing the Rub’s It’s The Motherf*cking Remix series,
listeners are treated to some ’80s pop, freestyle, RnB and new wave.
Who are/were some of your major influences?
Cosmo: "Black
Sabbath, and nothing
but Black Sabbath. There are no more influences on us."
